Is the 12400 really too slow for your needs? Of course it isn't a brand-new, cutting-edge chip, but 12th generation processors are still fine, unless you're a serious gamer who runs low settings or resolutions. The Mortar offers solid heatsinks, and this board wouldn’t be much worse. A 13600K or 14600K should perform well here, especially after the BIOS update you have available. Since you're mainly gaming rather than running CPU-intensive tasks for long periods, it shouldn't struggle with things like 300 watts of power.
It's a 360mm AIO. Turning off the e-cores and HT makes a big difference in reducing heat and power consumption, though they offer minimal benefits for gaming.
Upgrading right now isn't practical. However, because you're committed to proceeding, the results will be nearly identical—just a minor difference.
