7800X3D Motherboard Issues
I purchased an Asus TUF B650 (x670 wasn’t available) and a 7800X3D right at launch, updating the BIOS after finishing the build. For the 1413 I applied a SOC limit of 1.3V and even before it reached that point, it stayed under 1.2 with four RAM sticks and an EPSX on boot. Based on HWinfo, my memory checks ran about 20-30 seconds post-update, and everything worked smoothly in vSOC so far. I didn’t exceed $500 on a board before, since my previous TUF X570 performed just fine from the start.
Everyone, here’s what I’m thinking about this Ryzen 9 7900X. It might not be my ideal choice right now, but it could be worth the wait. Excited to see how it performs over the next month!
