Hello, following my recent CPU and Mobo issues, the PSU stopped working. I upgraded to a solid model from R7 3800x and an x570a-pro with 3400mt/mhz DDR4 from Crucial, which remained intact alongside the GPU and drives. Once the new CPU and MOBO were installed, everything functioned properly. After checking the BIOS, it showed a version ahead of the latest release, so I flashed it to the newest firmware. I adjusted the PBO settings to: PPT: 120 TJM: 90°C PBO Curve Optimizer: All Cores - Negative 30 (only two restarts succeeded before crashes). RAM was configured at DOCP I = 6000mt/mhz at various speeds, which worked for a couple of days. The PC would boot after more than two hours, but after two days it began to fail. I tried shutting it down for over two hours and it still started. Eventually, after clearing the CMOS, it worked again—only if I set RAM to its default 4800mt/mhz, which I didn’t like. I tested everything else but nothing resolved the problem. After a full flash of the BIOS, it functioned with PBO and other tweaks. However, a day later the PC kept looping, CMOS cleared, RAM set to 4800mt/mhz, and the drive errors returned. I reset my profile beforehand to avoid repeated setup. Eventually, after hours of frustration, I went to my parents for three hours and the PC refused to boot. It’s now ten days since that incident. I’m really frustrated with this platform and the motherboard. It performed well for two days, then suddenly stopped. I’m thinking about replacing the motherboard because it cost almost twice as much as the x570a-pro—160€ versus 285€—and my old one was fine. With no longer supported models, I decided not to invest more. Any advice would be appreciated. Specs: CPU: R7 7700X MOBO: Asus X670e Plus TUF COOLING: H150I ELITE RAM: DDR5 6000mt/mhz Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x16GB GPU: RX 6900X XFX Black Merc 319 Drives: 970 EVO plus 500GB NVMe Crucial P3 1TB Crucial 500GB 2.5" 2x Crucial 1TB 2.5"

You're asking about the essential features you rely on on this board. It seems the controller issue might be more pressing than the drive problems. Would you like me to order another one from Amazon? Your setups with 7700x and Gigabyte B650 AORUS Pro AX are stable at -30 and -15, but I'm curious about the -35 rating.

The specifications, the number of drives I can install, the cooling power for the mainboard and its VRMs, the 2.5GB storage, X-Boards. Avoid switching to lower-end boards. I prefer keeping my motherboard for another five years (assuming they deliver on promises) just like with my X570. Aiming for near full capacity so I don’t have to waste money again on this time-waster xD (it’s a mix of love and hate). It includes all the necessary features, 3x4.0x4 NVMe slots. One 3.0.4 drive for my old 250GB EVO plus (which isn’t installed yet because I didn’t need it then) and PCIe 5.0 for the GPU. Good number of SATA ports. The LED is nice since I don’t need it but it’s there anyway xD. These details are ideal, I can easily add another drive and I’m ready once telekom (ISP) speeds reach gigabit speeds in Germany xD (slow here).

I don't want to buy Gigabyte products anymore; I had problems with them and I'm finished spending money on them.

Sure, I can forward it to Amazon and see what alternatives are available. It might help avoid the issues you're facing with your PC.

I’d start by purchasing another item so you can continue experimenting with what you already have. Then I’ll wait until I’m more certain before returning. I’m a bit uncertain about the return policy in Germany, but we offer a 30-day window without questions asked, which means I could order ten boards and test them all, returning nine of them.

Begin with default configurations. Verify RAM placement in slots A2 and B2. If successful on stock and auto PBO, proceed to manually adjust settings such as RAM speed, DRAM voltage, and primary timings. Test the changes and confirm stability. If everything functions, move on to negative curve testing. If you have the Armory Crate installed, uninstall it and disable it in BIOS—it could be causing issues. You can download the official uninstallation tool from the provided link: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury crate/helpdesk_download/. Also note that your latest BIOS was updated three days ago; have you applied the update?

didn't notice the update for the bios, i'll look into it after gaming session. everything seems to be working fine; nothing crashes or causes issues from a PBO perspective, and even at 6000 speeds it only works once the CMOS is cleared. The RAM is functioning properly, it's just that after a long break the system thinks it's a toaster. That's the main concern. I'll try the BIOS update then.

The new BIOS isn't the cause, having avoided this issue before. If it does occur, it's frustrating considering the cost of the board.

I revised the bios, configured RAM at 6000 with DOCP I timings and PBO auto for now. Unless temperatures exceed 100°C again, PBO won’t activate. If it looks good tomorrow, I won’t resend it. If it’s unchanged but now in blue, I’ll return it. I can’t afford another 300€, so I need to send it back and wait for a new one. But I’ll note the SN to avoid getting the same board twice xD.
