Need assistance boosting my i7 7700k Kaby Lake to 5 ghz or at least 4.9 ghz? I’m not sure which settings to use for a stable overclock. I can start with 5 ghz running at 3.9 volts, but during stress tests my system freezes or crashes with graphical glitches and the machine shuts down.

Details: CPU – i7 7700k
GPU – Turbo GTX 1070
Motherboard – CyberpowerPC Z270 SLI Xtreme ATX
Cooler – Corsair Hydro Series H60 120mm Liquid Cooling
RAM – 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4/2400MHz Dual Channel
Power Supply – 700W
Please let me know what I should set next.

Temperatures at different speeds vary widely; not all values match 7700K. The motherboard and other components differ, leading to many factors influencing performance. Checking temperatures at 4.9 GHz can help assess stability before moving to higher frequencies. Lower-end AIO units typically show less variation, which is why temperature concerns are important.

My temperatures at 5 ghz were near 85 C during the Heaven Benchmark. It continues to freeze during the test when the 4.9 ghz setting is selected by the Mobo.

Quavooo :
My temperatures at 5 ghz were about 85 C during the Heaven Benchmark. It still freezes during the test when I use the 4.9 ghz preset that the Mobo provides. You'll need improved cooling.

It seems confusing why you'd need to boost a 7700k, yet water cooling is recommended for a 1151 socket when dealing with such high speeds.

I operate with a 4790k and manage most tasks simultaneously without problems, thanks to the Arctic Liquid Freezer 240.

It's understandable, you'd be surprised to hear that I haven't achieved top-notch frames in the games I'm playing right now. Thanks for your responses!

Have any ideas?
I'm not very familiar with AIOs, but I'd guess a mid-range model with a big radiator would work well.

I need assistance with overclocking my i7 7700k kaby lake to 5 ghz or at least 4.9. I'm unsure about the correct settings for stability. I have a 5 ghz boot speed at 3.9 volts, but during stress testing my system freezes or experiences major graphical issues and shuts down.

Details: cpu: i7 7700k
gpu: turbo gtx 1070
mobo: CyberpowerPC Z270 SLI Xtreme ATX
cpu cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H60 120mm Liquid Cooling System
mem: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR4/2400MHz Dual Channel Memory
psu: 700w

Please confirm your case dimensions and radiator size options. A 240mm radiator is recommended for an AiO setup, though good air coolers are available if space allows. Also, clarify whether you meant 1.39V or 3.9 volts.

What games are you playing and what frame rates are you achieving?
