amd hasn't shown much here yet, and getting it shipped is a bit costly. the i3 costs around 190 USD while the i5 is roughly 180 USD after converting the rates.
Sure, I'm aiming for something lighter but could work with an older GPU. I'm mainly into running classic titles like MW3, Gone Home, or BF1, and I want a stable setup without heavy demands.
I’m looking for broad ideas instead of precise numbers. Please keep it simple, as I’m not an expert and my understanding is limited.
What country btw? Those are ridicolous prices Also what uses? An office pc can literally run on anything even an overclocked c2d will do, a gaming pc that depends, oced first gen core (1156 or 1366) is pretty good for the price usually but no avx, theres also sandy which seems to be plummeting in price atm, even here in indo 2500k is only 13$ and 2600k 30$, boards are abit expensive but my cheap solution to that is find a b75/h77 with socketed bios (asus/asrock) and flash to a z77 bios, i do need to test this for myself but i have gotten h55 -> p55 cross chipset flash to work so unsurprising if flashing a b or h chipset to a z chipset would work
Go ahead and purchase the 12th gen i3 along with a motherboard, and have them sent to you. Seriously, those CPUs are so cheap at $190!
Shipping alone is around $70 to $100, which isn't practical. It might only make sense for one part, such as a GPU, rather than an entire system.
You’re paying too much for a low-quality chip. It makes sense to buy better components at half the cost and have them delivered. You’d end up spending the same on a much superior system. What you really need is a CPU, motherboard, GPU, and a decent 650w power supply—often available locally. Look up the recommended specs, avoid cheap cases, and don’t compromise on the case. Old e-waste cases work fine if they fit your ATX or mATX boards and have standard ports.
