Hey everyone, I’m considering switching from 64GB DDR4-3200 to 32GB DDR4-2400. This would let me pair the 32GB with my existing 16GB kit for single-channel use on the 8GB sticks and dual-channel on the 16GB sticks, giving a total of 48GB. I’m running a Ryzen 5 1600 and a B350 motherboard, and I need more memory for demanding apps like Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro while multitasking. Right now, my 16GB setup is causing crashes in both the browser and those programs. While the idea of getting 32GB upfront sounds great, I’m wondering if selling my current 16GB kit would be a smarter move before buying the 64GB option. It might save me money and avoid another upgrade later, especially since I’m heading to college for graphic design. Of course, it’s a bit extra for what I need, but as an enthusiast with a GTX 1070 and NVMe drive, I’m open to exploring other upgrades. Another option is pairing a Ryzen 3600 with a B450 motherboard and 32GB RAM, which could boost performance but would cost more. I’m not sure yet if this is the best path or if my current setup is enough. Thanks for your time—I’ll keep you posted as I figure things out.
