Which RAM is it? It's not just about frequency; things like CAS latency matter too. And we're talking about less RAM overall since each stick operates on a single channel.

More RAM often leads to reduced memory clock speed, which means lower bandwidth. Timings can differ a lot depending on the RAM model, but generally 3600MHz should outperform 2666MHz. In laptops, the BIOS typically restricts memory voltage settings, so XMP optimization isn't usually possible.
