You're not looking for major improvements. Once you've hit every other part, focus on the small gains. Aiming for 40 is better spent on more powerful CPU or GPU than on marginally faster RAM.

Definitely not. The performance gap won't be noticeable... Maybe just a few frames per second if you're lucky.
