I could run BF4 on my 760 OEM with 1.5GB of VRAM, using High settings at 1080p, and it never exceeded 1.4GB of VRAM.

I'm also compatible with a GTX 770, though I experience drops to the 40s and 50s during explosions. When the Shangri-La Tower collapses, I maintain around 55 fps in that area on the US side.

I believe many users here are confused about the meaning of lag. LAG stands for network latency spikes, leading to in-game movement issues and missed hits not being sent to the server. Microstutters aren't always tied to FPS; they can occur around lag and often fall in between. FPS drops happen when the player's FPS falls by 20 to 50 points below average, which is what players typically discuss. No, aiming for an average under 45fps isn't inherently bad—lowering the average FPS reduces the annoyance of drops. The real goal is usually to keep it above 100fps in shooters, since monitors struggle at higher rates. Even though drops from 120 to 90 feel worse than those from 60 to 30, the discomfort comes from the frequency and impact of the lag.
