The cooler you're considering handles high temperatures around 80°C during gaming at 1080p with DLDSR at 4K and DLSS enabled. Graphics performance is boosted to the highest setting. The fan noise is loud, almost like a jet engine, and it makes a distinctive turbo-like sound reminiscent of a turbocharged Nissan GTR. Will this model outperform the other option you mentioned?

This should be a solid purchase and could lead to improved outcomes. Running at high temperatures like 80°C might be challenging.

It seems your main concern is mental, not technical. At 80°C under load it shouldn't be alarming. Regardless, an AK400 definitely improves over the standard cooler and fits well with a mid-range CPU like the 12400.

I’d likely pick the more affordable cooler since a stock cooler isn’t necessary for the 12400F. A tower air cooler would perform better and feel more than adequate. At 80°C it’s acceptable for that chip, and unless temperatures climb into the high 90s during intense gaming, I wouldn’t be worried. The main concern would be noise, not performance.

But noise would upgrade right?? Ya'll saying 80 celcius is fine and I am here shatting my pants cause the way this PC spins up and screams at those temps is scary. It's not even proper summer by us .... when we start hitting 35 celcius ambient temps inside rooms I think it will run much hotter to.

A version similar to Dark Rock2 from BeQuiet would definitely suffice.

noise would be the primary factor, though the change isn't huge. It should improve with a tower cooler. The issue lies in the fan curve being set a bit incorrectly out of the box. At 80°C it's not a major concern for today's processors.

It's tough living in South Africa with restricted market access. The Deepcool AK400 seems like a strong alternative.

It should work well. The main change is that the dark rock is slightly thicker and includes an additional heat pipe.
