You're using an i5 2500K with an Asus Z68 motherboard and a Corsair PSU. When auto-clocked at 4.6V, it reaches high temperatures around the 90s Celsius range. The BIOS shows a core temp of 1.411V, but voltage offset or fixed voltage adjustments aren't stabilizing it below 1.4V for cooler operation. Your thermal paste is Arctic MX4. Seeking advice on better BIOS settings, fan tuning, or cooling solutions would be helpful. Thanks!

Increasing overclocking raises heat production. To reduce warmth, lower clock speeds and voltages, or use a more heat-resistant component.

Certainly reduce the voltage levels—1.411v offers a reliable method to quickly limit the remaining functionality of the CPU.

Maximum temperatures on Sandy were consistently around 60-65°C no matter the listed specs, but you're damaging the chip at 90°C, especially with a 1.42V 60°C design which wears it out fast.

I'm using a Beaffy CM 612 and believed it could handle that. Dropping the voltage below 1.4 causes instability, so its lifespan must have been reduced when operating at 4.5GHz on the previous owner's system, which always ran smoothly.
