The i5-8400 is a 65w processor, so even at 4Ghz (one core), it produces minimal heat. My setup uses a standard cooler base with a fan and Intel stock heatsink, running Prime 95 with modest settings. It stays under 75–80°C when all cores run at 3.8–3.9Ghz, such as during Control gameplay at 1440p with 2060 Super. Performance rarely exceeds 55–60°C.
