5Ghz Wi-Fi可能影响睡眠?
I've been working in IT for a while and have been following Linus's experiments since NCIX. I have a newborn who is 24 days old, and something caught my attention... she was sleeping well without any issues (besides the usual). Then I purchased a 5GHz extender from TP Link (the brand isn't important). After setting it up, her sleep didn't improve much—she struggled to stay asleep for long periods. I tried changing things: food, room setup, lighting, fabric softener... but nothing helped. After about six to eight hours of trying, she still couldn't sleep more than 3 to 10 minutes. It's not normal. Then I turned off the extender and placed it behind a thick concrete wall. After two minutes, she started sleeping normally and stayed asleep for around 13 hours. I can barely wake her up after feeding her, as she's very tired. Have anyone else noticed problems with the 5GHz band? I'm really worried about using the 2.4 GHz channel now
Hello everyone!

The baby likely didn't sleep due to being a newborn, not because of your internet setup.
Dealing with babies can be tricky, just as they are. Your Wi-Fi isn't interfering with them.
I understand your perspective completely. People often spot connections between events by chance, assuming they’re linked. In most cases, this isn’t accurate. To my knowledge, there’s no strong proof that 5G causes harm. If you’re hesitant, it’s perfectly fine to delay using it until more information becomes available. After all, you have a child to consider.
She faced her challenges, yet this seemed to indicate a strong desire to rest. There were no issues with her bowl or breathing, and she was well-nourished. When the Wi-Fi was turned off, she fell asleep within two minutes—acting like a baby—and stayed asleep for 10 to 13 hours afterward. We’ll observe how things progress over time. I’m nervous about trying this on my own baby, though some suggest it might help certain individuals with sensitive hearing through ear white noise.
P.s. For instance, I used a cheap LED bulb for the regular lamp casing... I thought the humming sound was someone scratching their head... I kept wondering what was going on for weeks... moved it to another room... everything seems okay now. When I returned, it made me really annoyed... then I turned off the light. I didn’t hear it, it must have been the transformer inside the LED... it was a cool thing, no one else noticed except me. I switched to a more expensive bulb, and everything is fine since then—but yeah, it did scratch my eardrums.
As a parent of two, I understand how sleeping habits shift over time. I’m not sure it’s linked to Wi-Fi interference. When people mention white noise, they usually mean sounds like radio static—soft, steady tones that mask other noises. This type of sound mimics the gentle flow of blood in a mother’s body, which can be soothing. The most valuable advice I’ve received is to focus on supporting the mother; she sets the tone for the baby. When mothers feel happier and less anxious, their babies tend to thrive. They often feed off each other’s calmness. Help her whenever you can.
