I recently changed my CPU from i5-6600k to i5-9600k and boosted it to 5Ghz with a 4.7ghz cache speed. I didn’t add more voltage, but temperatures still seem low. When I stress the CPU, it averages around 25 minutes with a high of 38°C. I have a 240mm radiator with push-pull fans. Are these readings typical?
The maximum temperature stayed quite low. I used the stress test software for a specific duration. Did you actually run it or just played a short game?
I used a compressor to stress and a thermocouple to monitor temperatures.
I finally achieved more precise readings using a mix of Prime 95 and the HW monitor. The recorded temps were 23 minutes 84 max, though there was no average. During the end-of-test phase it remained steady at 84 until I powered it down. I also completed a Prime 95 stress test for an hour.
