I’d be surprised by your situation, and thank you for reaching out. Helping someone locate a good 5G router can make a big difference. Recently bought a property without fiber, and the cable company has been unreliable—appointments missed, installation quality disappointing. Now I need mobile 5G for my business; it’s not the fastest, but it gets me some connectivity. I received a TMobile 5G plan, though their gateway router is problematic—can’t disable DHCP, no port forwarding, and the admin portal offers very limited options. I also have my own router, but the TMobile one is too basic for my needs. I’m looking for a more capable mobile 5G device, preferably with the ability to block DHCP, enable port forwarding, and set up DDNS. Any suggestions on reputable brands or retailers where I can buy such equipment? I understand these devices are pricey, but since you can install your own SIM card and customize settings, it might be worth the investment. One option I found is a Chinese model from Szelins, available for China bands—though it’s not suitable for the US market at the moment. If you’re open to exploring other regions or brands, let me know!

Most cellular networks rely on CGNAT, which means unless you're paying for a public IP address, port forwarding isn't possible. You're also unlikely to want to enable it on a cellular connection. Check out CradlePoint's offerings—they have a solid selection of routers that fit common needs. Here’s their product page: https://cradlepoint.com/products/endpoin...ch_routers

I confirmed the static IP is set up on the account.

I reviewed their options. From what I gathered, their access point requires a subscription and they don’t permit external devices. I’ll confirm with T Mobile first before making any payments.

@Donut417 your 7-10 day return policy is great for flexibility.

It's interesting, isn't it? A static IP might seem useful, but blocking port forwarding can prevent certain services from connecting. You'd need a workaround like a tunnel to maintain access.
