I've experienced several unexpected restarts since upgrading to the 5950x, so I'm actively working on resolving the problems I'm facing even after reinstalling the operating system. I've shared my Event Viewer logs with warnings, errors, CPU power concerns, and RAM issues in forums where others discuss similar experiences. I'm hoping one of them has already contacted a local technician to help decode what's happening. Would anyone be willing to examine the log files in the attached zip file? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. They were extracted from Event Viewer. I'm feeling quite down after trying to identify this issue, and I'm weighing the option of deleting my data to a file server or giving up altogether, considering a return to simpler tasks. My PC was designed to keep me safe—after narrowly avoiding prison time for serious offenses. The WHEA issues stem from the processor side, likely due to a faulty power supply such as a 12V CPU voltage rail. Through elimination, I’m confident in this direction. If needed, I’ll begin searching for an affordable mATX motherboard with solid features—Wi-Fi, water cooling, dual NVMe, SATA, single C, USB 3 and 2x USB 2.0 headers. I’ll wait for recommendations while I’m sure about the problem.
I think I have at least some kind of DOCP or XMP enabled since I've set the RAM to 3200MHz and haven't experienced any unexpected shutdowns after upgrading to the 128GB model, which isn't listed on the QVL. Even after pushing it hard in OCCT, I haven't seen any random crashes, minimal lag, and it always starts properly. That said, with my earlier comment, the power supply or motherboard seems to be the main problem here.
Possible issues often stem from processor-related WHEA problems, usually caused by insufficient voltage (like underclocking) or excessive clock speeds, resulting in instability. For Ryzen systems, the CPU might be faulty and require a switch to AMD. BIOS updates can also alter error patterns, especially when dates differ significantly. Running with 128GB (four times 32GB) puts considerable strain on the CPU, making DOCP/XMP unlikely to achieve full stability. AMD’s 4x dual-rank sticks on Zen 3 deliver only 2666 MT/s, which isn’t very promising.
