Hello, your current setup includes a recent 7800X build with 32GB of Cl30 RAM and a CPU with 8 missing cores. You're wondering about the impact of those missing cores on performance and how the vcache might help.

It varies depending on your activities. For gaming, eight missing cores have minimal impact, especially because most games benefit significantly from additional cache based on resolution and settings. If you mainly work with video editing or simulations, you'll probably notice the effect more clearly.

The main positive aspect of the 5950X is its possible high clock speed when used by someone skilled. However, AM4 performs sluggishly relative to AM5. I’d likely skip it.

Play if you want, change it up. If you're aiming for profits through production, skip it. It's surprisingly simple. Those eight missing cores could really hurt your confidence, but a bit of therapy might help.

Zen 3 ran quite well back then, similar to five years prior. It hasn't been as smooth lately. I'd even consider a 9600X now.

It's not completely free, but I'm able to exchange my 5950X for the 7800X3D.

The remaining parts are the motherboard and RAM. If you're in a vacuum, you could replace them all at once. I own the 7800X3D and really like it. Just be sure those components perform well.

I prefer a 7800X3D over the 5950X. I also have a 5900X and a 5800X3D available. The 5600X is there but it's currently in its clamshell.

Confirm the components function correctly, then exchange them.
