I have loved team red for a while and the price to performance is amazing, however with this GPU and chip shortage I can’t get any good cards that aren’t overpriced. I’m wondering if I should go with the 9900k over the 5800x because intel has integrated graphics so I could play until I can get a GPU. Would this drop performance? I’m still torn between the two so if you can provide any information on the specs or wether I should stick with team red or go team blue please let me know. Thanks

I’d choose 5800x since it matches gaming performance and works well on workstations too. It supports PCIe Gen 4 with B550 or X570 boards. I’m confident the GPU wait time will be high, so skipping the 9900k’s integrated GPU isn’t a good idea.

The 9900k and 10700k are nearly identical CPUs. I’ll focus on comparing the 10700k with the 5800x. The 5800x performs better on a single core, but it will cost over $100 more. For a more balanced view with Intel, an i9 10850k would be ideal. If you need built-in graphics, consider the 10700k or 10850k based on your budget. It may run slightly slower in 1080p gaming, but it offers better value or more processing power depending on your needs.
