It was purchased together with two identical 2 x16GB dual-rank sticks, specifically the 2133 model with 3200 XMP settings. After running Cinebench 23 for three hours on two drives without problems, the issue appears to be related to using four sticks. Switching the manufacturer of the memory chips might be important for overclocking performance. MSI claims Micron DRAM but lists Samsung as the supplier.

This indicates a hardware problem with the CPU during instruction retrieval from the L1 cache. Generally, having multiple diagnostic logs would help confirm consistency, though a faulty CPU remains the most likely cause. Factors like a defective pin, motherboard issues, or fluctuating voltage could contribute. Verify that PBO is turned off or disabled in the BIOS settings, as aggressive automatic overclocking can be problematic. Some motherboard manufacturers have updated their BIOS to disable PBO for improved reliability, while others keep it enabled. Also review the BIOS for Performance or Gaming profiles, as they may enable overclocking features.
You’ve turned it off and it was on auto. I’m still reading while using cinebench… (30 minutes then a 2-hour run to check stability). Any tips for a solid stress test on Prime95? It seems your 3600 might have been more stable than the 5800. No crashes, all drives working fine—thanks @bjoolz. Rift crashed now, just a tough push game.
TL;DR If you want to skip PBO, compare your actual tasks—gaming vs. production—and choose the quicker setup: either set RAM to 1.35 volts with XMP at 3200 MHz (but 1.26 is too low for dual-rank sticks) or stick with 2933 MHz and XMP. Avoid changing voltages, as it hurts performance.
It seems there might be a hardware problem, but it appears to resemble a voltage problem. You're wondering why your computer acts this way, especially since gaming demands differ from regular tasks. I recommend sticking to my earlier advice and checking if anything improves. Make sure your RAM isn<|pad|>, it shouldn't be set at 1.26 volts.
The previous failure was due to PBO voltage at 1.35 and XMP settings, so I'm planning to use two sticks for testing. I've removed the other two and don't need to unhook the fan again. See the photo for details. If it works, I'll try your other configurations. Thanks for all the advice—I've never faced this much trouble before...
