I can obtain a reasonably low price (around 150£) for a 5700x3D, and I might be able to resell my 5900X for more than that. However, it's hard to find reliable benchmarks on YouTube, especially since many videos seem fake or uncertain. That's why I'm reaching out here—do you have any users who own this CPU? I know the 5900X performs well in games, but a 3D cache might boost FPS further with a 7900XT. The best choice would likely be the 5800X3D, but people here are selling them nearly new for a high price, which makes it costly. So 5700X3D seems more affordable and fits my budget better. Also, the 5700X3D usually has a max boot clock of around 4.05GHz, which is significantly lower than the 5900X. On the other hand, the 5900X has two CCDs for six cores, allowing games to utilize one at a time. When comparing the 5700X, it has eight cores on a single CCD, which could theoretically be overclocked to around 4.5GHz with a 360 Arctic LF3. But would that really matter?

This model's performance is capped by its hardware. You might see higher FPS at lower resolutions like 1080p, especially with a 3D chip, but gains are minimal beyond that.

For gaming, what I've heard is that the 5800X3D and 5700X3D are pretty close, maybe just a few frames per second difference. In my view, if you're focused on gaming, the 5700X3D might be a better choice compared to the 5900X for a similar price. Overclocking isn't really relevant with x3D chips, so you probably won't need to do much of it. Clock speed isn't the only factor in gaming performance.

You've checked several options and found the most suitable one for your needs. The 2nd best gaming CPU on the AM4 platform is likely to be around 4% slower at 1080p compared to the 5800X3D, but around the same at 1440p. At £150, it offers good value and can help you avoid needing AM5/LGA1700 upgrades soon. The Arctic LF3 performs well for AI operations on AM4, while X3D chips require PBO curve optimization to achieve better single-core and core performance without affecting gaming speeds. The 5700X3D is expected to reach about 4.1 GHz per core, matching the stock performance, so optimization mainly improves thermal efficiency.

The 5900X caused a slowdown on my 6950XT at 1440p, but upgrading to the 5800X3D fixed it. These models perform much better during low frame rates, especially at 0.1% and 1%.

Yeah, I was looking at those channels as well, but there is not direct compression to 5900X for some reason. And that what I was looking for, 5900X Vs 5700X3D only. 12 Cores, even tho 2x CCD separate, seems more capable of maintaining higher FPS in Warzone, as I back to play it with friends, as it appeared on XGPass, and I playing it on my 1080p 165hz monitor, with competitive settings, even tho that's like nothing for 7900XT, but on bigger maps, I can gets some FPS drops, with no GPU being fully utilized. So 12 Cores isn't everything as the game may use just 6cores at time with lower Cache, so it may be actually better with 5700X3D. PS5 has CPU 8/8 up to 3.8ghz, but when I playing games at 1800p-2160p at 60fps locked, CPU doesn't reach more than 4Ghz, usually sitting at 3.2-3.6ghz, but with CoD WZ, CPU can sweat a bit, as it goes up to 4.0-4.6ghz so 4.05 in 5700X3D seems limitation, but you've said clock are not always means everything, so it may be actually better advantage of one 8C CCD and more V-cache tho.

The Hardware Unboxed video includes a side-by-side look at the 5950X and the 5900X. The gaming performance differences between these models aren't significant. For a clear comparison, focus on the 5700X3D figures versus the 5950X data.

Most evaluations show the 5700X3D outperforms the 5800X3D in several benchmarks, especially when focusing on CPU usage. While the 5800X3D is frequently discounted and may be more than 15% cheaper, the 5700X3D generally offers better value for the majority of users. For those aiming to maximize performance from their older AM4 setup, the 5800X3D still has a compelling reason to consider it.

Maintain the 5900x setup, you can always PBO overclock it for more speed. Also, those additional cores and threads assist with CPU-heavy tasks.

I've already turned on PBO and made some adjustments for optimal performance. I'm only using this PC for gaming, and I don't plan to use it for any tasks soon. The 5900X is just what I got for around 120£ a few months back.
