5600x Faux FPS decreases
I'm tracking the boot frequency for my 5600x in OCCT. It's only reaching 43x instead of the expected 46x. The startup appears normal. I also shared an unusual drop in FPS in games without any input, but the overall frame rate stays steady while frames seem to drop noticeably every few seconds.
Heavy comments on my side. No updates had a 2017 chipset version installed. Planning some tests now to check if the newest chipset drivers resolved the issue. The only noticeable thing was the Faux Fps drops after hours of playtime, hinting at possible overheating. Clocks and frame rates stayed steady, so I’m confused about what’s actually happening. It’s not subtle either—it seems like 30 fps for a few seconds.
Max core boost shows 46x across all cores. RAM uses dual channels but struggles with XMP settings, which appear to be widespread. At JDEC 2666Mhz.
2666 runs quite slowly, suggesting that Ryzen 5000 series chips react even more to RAM speed. If you're limited in how much you can boost your RAM, it might be wise to look into a higher-speed setup.
Check RAM placement in slots 2 and 4; adjusting could help performance. Use hwinfo to track CPU and GPU temperatures.
It might just be because the chipset driver is quite outdated.
