I'm setting up a PC with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G and plan to add a discrete GPU later. Will adding something like a GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 cause performance issues? It's a powerful integrated APU.
It will work. All processes are constrained unless infinite speed becomes possible.
The 5600g model performs well across various resolutions, making it a solid choice for the 2700x and 5600x settings. It seems a 2060S would fit nicely without being overly strong. A 5600g might be a bit too strong for pairing with a 1660ti.
Having a PC without any bottlenecks means it can handle a lot of tasks smoothly, since nothing is limiting its speed. The 5600G is basically just a regular 5600X with an extra GPU. It’s enough to run a 3080 at 1440p without any issues. Feel free to upgrade to something like the 1660Ti or 3060Ti if you have the budget, but if not, it’s not a big deal.
