I've been operating a b550 MSI mortar, essentially the MATX counterpart to the Tomahawk. It's performed well for roughly three years without any problems.

I chose this board because builders had praised its VRM design at the time. It offers plenty of space for stronger processors, though I haven’t upgraded yet—when I do, it’ll probably involve more than just a CPU change.

Currently I'm satisfied with my setup. It meets my requirements. Perhaps I'll upgrade to AM5 next year, or I might stick with this until at least AM6 in 2026.

They don’t list that model, but it seems to be an 8GB version. Are you using a 16GB configuration instead?

Available biostar boards include options without tuning. B450 models are also offered, particularly used ones which are affordable. Am4 remains a good choice for both mobos and CPUs. For new builds, consider a 12600K on LGA 1700 if you're purchasing a B550 and RYZEN (excluding the 5700X3D).
