4k gaming on Win7
4k gaming on Win7
I usually run at 1080, or in triples at 5760x1080, but when I brought my PC to my friends' house for gaming and set it to 4k it caused a lot of problems and frequent crashes. I thought this might be related to Windows 7 since it's getting older. I'm considering bringing it over today and thinking about installing Windows 10 on a spare HDD, but I'd rather not if possible. Do you have any advice on making 4k work on Windows 7?
The system specifications are Windows 7 and 4K operating smoothly.
FX-8350 and GTX960. Okay, sure, it's not great, but I was only trying to run FEAR and Yakuza 0, both of which it should've been able to run fine.
Which display cable is used on the system? It might not support 4K resolution. I also suggest performing a fresh installation of the GPU driver using DDU.
Yes, it does, if it allows running at 60Hz it's likely not the cable, but irregularities can occur.
It might be a driver problem.
The overclocking process may definitely lead to issues.
Please try testing the GPU overclock using GPUPI 3.3.3.
