4K gaming might slow down advancement.
So I'm interested to hear what your thoughts are about 4K gaming do you think game devs will start to cater for 4K gaming. personally i think that there is a high chance that they will and I believe that it will halt the progression of graphics. Currently we have cards that can beast games at 1080p reaching frames of 200+ fps which leaves a lot of head room for 1080p gaming and even 1440p. I would like to see developers start to use this extra horse power we have rather than limiting it to allow for stable 4K gaming. So what are your thoughts do you think that 4K could slow down progression or are you fully on the 4K band wagon?
I'm improving my display from 1080 to 4K. I really enjoy the visuals at 1440p and 144Hz, not just for gaming. For games I believe the main issue isn't power but cost. If a 24-inch 1080 monitor costs $120, why buy a $450 4K one? People are okay with slightly lower quality.
1080 is quite high for most regions... consoles struggle to reach it without ultra-realistic cinematic rendering at 5 fps.
Consider this perspective: 720p on ultra versus 1080p on medium. Which appears clearer? The higher one does—1080p generally offers a sharper view. More detailed resolution tends to be superior, regardless of personal opinion.
With 8K TVs, the concept of consoles seems out of place. We’re seeing the Neo project and their goal of delivering 720 upscaled to 4K at 30FPS. It looks promising.
