You're experiencing blurriness because your 1080p monitor isn't fully utilizing the 4K resolution of your DSR. Try adjusting the display settings to match your monitor's native resolution or consider using a higher refresh rate display to improve clarity.

you might think it adds little value since the display won’t look much better, but it can still impact clarity and detail in certain situations.

With GPU capability, why not apply anti-aliasing?

Increasing the resolution doesn't solve the core issue of insufficient pixel count on the screen. Even with a powerful GPU, a 1080p monitor simply can't show a higher-resolution image. If you can afford a 4K display, it would be more practical to upgrade the hardware rather than relying on higher resolution settings.

This is referred to as supersampling.

Even if SSAA was available, this would still likely occur

I mentioned that because you need a high refresh rate monitor for CSGO/Apex and 4K for Witcher 3. I had a 980ti with 1080p at 144Hz, which worked well for CS but was too costly for 4K. Those options were really pricey.

It's a bit of a shock if the Witcher could maintain 60+ frames per second at that setting on a 980Ti processor.

If he just needs some eye-catching screenshots, that's exactly what I enjoy doing. My RX 580 definitely can't handle 3840x2400 in Forza Horizon 4, but the frame rate isn't low enough to worry about for taking shots. People often think image scaling makes things look blurry or soft, even with supersampling, but that's usually just a minor issue.
