I have a 9900K with an Aorus Master Z390. I’m planning to equip it with 3200 and 32GB of RAM. I’ve seen a lot about using 4x8 or 2x16 configurations for boosting RAM speeds via XMP or manual settings. Most recommendations suggest opting for a 2x16 setup to reduce stress on the ICM (Memory Controller). However, overclocking RAM can be tricky since RAM uses dual memory channels, and one channel can limit performance. This might slow down your PC or prevent full overclocking. What’s more practical? Or is there another approach that works better? Having all slots filled seems like a safer choice. Any advice would be appreciated.

It's better to choose 2x16 even if it doesn't appear as attractive. It's accurate—it increases the load on the memory controller by adding more cards.

It seems the board doesn’t allow quad channel, so a 2x16 setup should work.

The most affordable option in Germany seems to be two 2x16 units around 300 euros, though they look less appealing. Alternatively, a set of four 8x4 units at about 370 euros offers flexibility, and two pairs of 2x8 for 340 euros could work well. What are your thoughts?
