Hello, I recently installed my new i9 13th Gen and 4090 with 32GB RAM. When playing games other than the main wilds, my GPU and CPU usage stay around 20-30%, and I sometimes get 120 FPS or 200 FPS depending on the game. If I were at full load, would I see higher frame rates? My monitor supports 280Hz, but I’m curious why I’m not reaching 280 FPS. My temperatures are consistently between 60-70°C. Thanks!

You're using a 1440p or lower display, which may be causing a CPU slowdown since the 4090 is built for 4K resolution.

I'm planning to get a new monitor soon, though it's currently set to 1080p. I was thinking that would work, but my CPU is still running at just 20%.

Check the usage for each thread separately. The 20% reflects overall activity across all threads. This suggests a full utilization of around 6 threads, which is quite high since most games only need about 2. Upgrading to 4K would help, but it won’t increase your frame rate.

Yes, it's possible to build a game that leverages many more threads to achieve higher frame rates.

They might be able to do it, but it would require a lot of effort that doesn’t justify it because most users have 6-core CPUs and usually aren’t limited by them.

No, it wouldn't improve FPS. Overclocking can sometimes cause instability or crashes, which might actually reduce performance.

It could make a small difference, though it won't be significant.

Thanks for the input, but this question needs a clearer explanation. The performance issue might stem from how the game optimizes rendering or resource usage. Let me know if you'd like to dive deeper!
