You recently purchased a 4060 and it’s being paired with an i5 9500. Games like Fortnite seem to rely heavily on CPU performance, but you’re only achieving about 200 FPS. You’re considering upgrading to a Ryzen CPU and a new motherboard, but you’re unsure. Any advice would be great!

This modern Ryzen 7600/x would significantly outperform the Intel 9500 in CPU gaming. It's a budget-friendly Ryzen 7000 model, and its prices are reasonable. The only drawback is the inability to reuse your DDR4 memory. What settings are you using?

What other games do you enjoy? 200fps works well, but if you need the highest performance you can use a 240hz monitor or something similar. Otherwise it comes down to the situation, your budget, and you might be okay with 16gb DDR4 by choosing something like a Ryzen 5700x3d or 5800x3d, or opt for an AM5 setup if you want more future-proofing.
