It's acceptable to have unused ports or pins, such as doing 4+2 with two ports idle. This is common in certain setups.

It doesn't exist a CPU with six pins... it's usually four or eight. PCIe supports both six and eight pins.

Ignoring the 6-pin is unnecessary for most people. (I own this board and chip, but I've never used it even after overclocking)

Link only these two components. Power will be sufficient. The design supports an 8-pin EPS or a 4+4 configuration.

They all mention EATX12V. Capturing all three proved challenging. The rightmost label appears on the right, the middle one along the top, and the left one on its left (the small connector with the VRM fan). The MB page is also available. I’m uncertain about the EZ plug but am almost certain it’s not present.

Ok ive googled a bit and found this thread https://forums. It seems like this power connector is indeed a 6 pin ATX connector for supporting additional power to the PCIe Express slot. However it is only needed when you have a really beefy graphics card installed. Here is the original explanation from ASUS: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1003410

The 6-pin is actually a PCIe power connector, which you should have (along with both CPU 8-pins) if you plan to push a 3990X or overclock. With a 3970X you can skip it. EZ_PLUG resembles a Molex 4-pin, though I’m not sure if it’s the correct size. Asus uses one for powering PCIe slots on top of ATX 24-pins, which is needed when using more than two graphics cards.
