4 beeps on startup
4 beeps on startup
Hi!
I purchased a new used PC last week. On the same day I bought it, while installing GTA V at night it made 4 beeping sounds and shut down. After doing some research, I discovered it might be a RAM issue. So I removed the RAM the other day and it worked. A week has passed, and today while browsing, it started doing the same thing again.
I opened the PC, took the RAM off and it worked once more, but while the PC was still open and I checked everything, touching something caused it to shut down again, producing the 4 beeping sounds without the RAM I thought was the cause.
I replaced the CMOS today, hoping it would fix the problem, but I’m not sure if that’s the right advice.
The detailed specifications for the entire system include the make and model of every component that has been installed.
it is a pre-built HP CompactPCI Elite 8300 from 2012 that was upgraded to an RTX 1050 Ti and an Intel Core i7 2600 (the exact specifications are unclear).
Considering the system's age, you might be searching for a practical answer. The remark about touching something implies there could be an issue with wires, equipment, etc. Have you checked them, ensuring they are powered down and removed from the source?
