Software purchases don't align with CoC principles. The same applies to asking for gifts or sales, trading virtual items, and software transactions. CoC is the way to go.
I've spent 423 hours and I think it's terrible. I liked a bit of it, but it's only tolerable if things aren't too bad or you're playing with friends who use good tech and aren't acting weird. It can still be fun, though.
It's a terrible game, that's clear. I don't think COD is much better. The sci-fi elements that involve BF4 aren't going to stop me from playing, since I just got it a few weeks back and it wasn't free.
