I bought the R9 280x from a local shop for around $120. I wanted to check its performance, so I installed 3dmark. As soon as I clicked "Run," the program froze instantly. Later, I took a photo with my phone and forced a shutdown because it didn’t restart. Can you help me figure out what’s wrong?

No, I didn't install the newest AMD Crimson drivers. The previous graphics card was not specified.

I didn’t try it again since I’m wondering why this is happening. All other parts of my PC are fresh, except the graphics card I recently purchased.

I saved the file from AMD's site. All my parts are brand new. I only used the dedicated GPU for a single day and purchased this 280x card during a discount.

Review driver statuses; if no changes, test additional games on the card to detect any artifacts. Should artifacts appear, initiate RMA; otherwise, investigate other potential issues.

You can spot artifacting by checking for visual distortions or anomalies in your gameplay. Since you're using an older GPU like the HD 7750, subtle issues might be harder to notice compared to newer hardware.

The Beta version is in the testing phase, while the official release is stable. Yes, the official release may have issues or bugs that are being fixed.
