Hello, it seems you're looking for a 3D software option alongside Unreal Engine 4. You mentioned Blender and Maya, but you're unsure which fits your needs better. Could you share more about your project goals or preferences? This will help narrow down the best choice for you.

Blender is open-source and only requires conversion to FBX. SketchUp is straightforward yet has limited features.

Blender is open-source, though it can be challenging to master. Alternatives like Autodesk Maya or 3dsMax might be more user-friendly, but their licenses are expensive. They're typically reserved for professionals. I recommend trying Blender.

I understand the other view, it seems quite simple to grasp. However, with all the alternatives priced at that amount, I'm going to keep using Blender for now. ^^

Blender appears to be the best choice right now. It's free, allows commercial use, and offers most of the features you need in a modeling tool. Although I favor 3ds Max, I won’t be able to afford it soon, and publishing work isn’t permitted on the student version.

In my experience as a game developer, 3D modeling is enough—just create a mesh that works with any software. Maya excels in animation, dynamics, and rendering, but ZBrush and texturing tools like Substance Designer are more suited for detail. You can also rig and animate actions in Blender easily, making Maya less necessary unless your budget is tight.

Blender is a highly capable tool. Its layout isn't very intuitive, but that's not too hard to manage.
