Hi, I tried overclocking my A8 7600 from 3.1 to 3.9MHz using a78M-E35 motherboard, but when using AMD Overdrive it only shows 1.6MHz. Can you explain why this is happening?

It's similar since you're not giving it enough work to require that much power. Try performing an action that will challenge your system, such as running a highly graphical game, and observe the results.
