Alright let me get to the deal quickly here, there seems to be one 13600K on sale currently in where I live, and I already have a capable board to clock it (Z690-A MSI DDR4). I also have the cooler set up in my case, bought a bracket in the older days for Alder Lake which should fit on it fine. The cooler is a Galahad 360 with push-pull fans so that should cover as well. However, there are some other things... namely: 1) TPU mentions core load assortment / scrambling on some cores, how bad is it? I'd like to make use of every core up to an all core OC. Because what I got is a 12 core 24T CPU, and it's clocked heavily too. 2) Speaking of heavy clocks, it's at 4425 with some Ballistix MAX 2x16gb 4400 working at a pathetic 3600. Can I run these things at higher speeds on a good Gear with the 13600K? 3) I'll need to reinstall everything which is the other common issue and I'm doing this for the new Call of Duty, maybe some other games like Trepang in between. These, outside of everyday Windows tasks. Is this even worth it? MW CPU TIME is high sometimes here, I was hoping the new CPU would reduce it a bit. The CPU still costs a lot, it's well over 300 bucks. Oh and, the ethernet on the board never seems to work, however I do have a 10g X550 NIC I can chuck in... luckily. But then I think I will lose a slot and I require 2 full size slots for dual Optane SSDs. Don't know how I'll go about fixing that, maybe use the Type-C to ethernet adapter... another pathetic solution, lol.

It seems like upgrading might not have been the best choice. While the i5 is quicker, it feels like you're settling for something less powerful compared to a top-tier chip. That’s just my perspective.

You might also consider using Windows 11 with Intel Thread Director. Previously, I noticed Windows 10 had problems with e-cores and would load them unnecessarily for demanding tasks.

Yes, it still works perfectly for me.

I don't get what you're attempting to convey. This entire passage seems confusing. Please try again. The 13600k is a powerful chip, while the 3900x performs poorly compared to it.

I often hear tech talk that can be confusing, like CPU time which shows how long the processor spends working on tasks. My 3900X is actually quite fast for its price—currently running a 3060 Ti. I’m thinking about upgrading to something around 13,700K, but I don’t want a bulky space heater.

I mentioned this in relation to a 13600k. What does that increase to? 5.3ghz? The 3900x barely reaches 4ghz, and the 13700k isn't meant for heating. Just run it undervolted with a lower TDP.

I understand I won't be doing that after all... you should know who I am. I always check my components, and I have a 12400F with the Turbo Boost 2.0 chipset. Right now, my 3900X has all-core overclocked to 4450 MHz, which is close to what you're seeing. It's not as bad as you think. Perhaps it's worse with a 4090, but not with my current setup. I'm planning to get an RX 7700 XT since the QD-OLED isn't available here.

The function isn't actually in version 10.1. The cores and e-cores operate at varying speeds, but you can push them to maximum without interruption. That 3600MHz frequency works best with Ryzen because it aligns perfectly with memory controller timing. Going beyond that limit will hurt performance even if the RAM is faster. If it handles higher speeds, it's likely due to the specific configuration. Regarding CPU time, are you seeing low frame rates in your game?

It seems like you're adjusting your settings for better performance. With the new CPU, you're aiming for higher memory speeds and a suitable gear ratio. The system supports up to 4600 MHz, and I've managed that before. Sometimes the game lags because of CPU usage, showing more GPU time than actual rendering. This metric in COD displays render times from both ends.
