3900x Gigabyte 570 master with XMP stability
Last week I changed from air cooling to water cooling. Either my XMP settings were missing or something went wrong. Once I turned on XMP, I experienced multiple blue screens and performance drops, such as a slow mouse cursor in Windows. Everything else works fine with the default memory—Corsair Vengeance 4 x8GB at 3200Mhz (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16). The BIOS version is 7B, which has been there for weeks. My CPU voltage changed from 1.250 to auto, but the problem persists. I’ve reset the CPU, dimmer settings, and power configuration repeatedly, yet performance issues remain. I can’t run with XMP enabled now. Anyone know how to fix this? How much slower is it? Also, I have to empty the system every time I change the dimmers. If possible, I’d like to replace the dimmers and would appreciate suggestions for a 32GB setup. Edited November 2, 2019 by Leanora (typo)
This setup is quite unusual with my Aorus Elite board. The XMP profile tends to keep the DRAM voltage fixed, so I always need to manually adjust it to 1.35 V. Also, when I try to configure my memory, it fails to boot and seems to reset BIOS settings, though it doesn’t actually clear everything. To get a proper start, I have to apply "optimized defaults." My RAM is rated for 1.35 V with XMP enabled.
If you need 32GB, make sure to purchase two 16GB units since memory performance on Ryzen chips tends to be better with double the capacity.

I checked the updated BIOS, but it keeps crashing when XMP is active. It seems the issue isn't necessarily a corrupted BIOS. I plan to adjust manual RAM settings tomorrow and see if that resolves the problem.
