Looking into Delling for the Ryzen 9 3900X, checking thermal variations and overclocking tips. Need advice on heat differences and stability when pushing the CPU. Any recommended guides?

No mention of Ryzen delidding has been made, and because their chip design differs, it would be useful to explore how such a process might be handled. There doesn’t seem to be a comparable tool available for Intel processors.

The lid is already attached (probably using indium and gold for protection), so adding thermal compound could make things worse.

You can try fixing it, but it’s really tough because of the solder and the situation is pretty tricky.

I believed it was soldered but didn’t want to provide incorrect details.

Avoid attempting this—damage risk is extremely high and you'd end up with just a small $500 paper weight. The IHS is already bonded onto the chip, so using your own material would only complicate things further. You might try gently touching the IHS surface and your water block for better contact, but be cautious. There are many tutorials available if you want more details.

Uncertain about it, but I'd feel really nervous trying it on that beauty.
