Hello, I own a Ryzen 3800x with MSI Gaming Plus, 3600 32GB RAM, and a Corsair H115 AIO cooler. My stock boost clock is around 4.4 GHz at 65°C, but it drops to about 4.2 GHz under full load. I've already tried overclocking all cores before and managed only 4.5 GHz with a voltage of roughly 1.42V, which made me a bit anxious. People suggest staying below around 1.3 volts to avoid damage. My Vcore stays at 1.4 or higher most of the time. I’m not sure how far I can push it and want some advice. I’ve looked online and heard similar warnings. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

1.42V is quite high for a static OC in the third generation. Most processors don’t hit their single-core stock boosts with safe voltages, making stock settings usually safer. On the flip side, memory overclocking on Ryzen offers big gains with minimal risks, so it’s a good idea if you’re aiming for extra performance.

He tried it too. The CPU doesn't like it. It lowers the voltage smoothly but stops working when overclocking happens.

You’re right that more voltage means more heat, but the limits are set to prevent damage. The max is 1.5 volts for stability and reliability. Your aio cooler helped lower temperatures by 20°C, which supports this balance between performance and safety.

The boosting method supports up to 1.5V for brief intervals only, preventing excessive heat buildup inside the silicon. Constantly using high voltage can cause tiny hotspots that the device’s sensors miss but may still harm it.

I haven't adjusted the memory overclocking settings. Should I simply update the axmp profile to a faster value?
