3800x and pbo
Hey everyone, I just installed my 3800x with fresh paste and everything looks good. I had a quick question about PBO. I ran Cinebench at stock settings and got a multi of 5105 and a single of 525. After a few runs, it usually stays between 5080 and 5105. I think these numbers are pretty solid for stock performance. I turned on PBO and it improved to around 5090-5100. Does PBO really make a difference here? It’s not a huge change, but I’m curious why it works better with this CPU compared to the other one we have (the 3700x) which gets 4800 at stock and 4950 with PBO. Thanks for checking!
Pbo isn't the most powerful overclock, and plus Ryzen doesn't gain much from it.
It looks like you're wondering why the 3700x performs better than the 3800x. You think the presentation file might be easing the CPU load? Compared to the 3800x, which hits over 140% at 140% PPT, the 3700x seems more efficient.
