While testing my 3700X on R20, I noticed some interesting performance trends. During allcore tests, the CPU reaches its maximum boost at 88W and stabilizes near 3.9GHz, occasionally hitting its full 4.4GHz single core turbo. On single core runs, it stays around 4.3GHz with occasional jumps to the stock 4.4GHz. The R20 multicore version performs closer to 4600-4700MHz, while single core reaches about 500MHz. It seems this is typical behavior for a standard (non-PBO) 3700X running the latest BIOS and AGESA on a TUF Gaming Plus X570. Hwinfo shows a 98% power accuracy rating, and temperatures hover between 62-65°C on a DR4 platform.

Behavior is strongly influenced by temperature, particularly at stock levels. The lower the temperature (especially below 60°C), the more noticeable the boost becomes. In Ryzen Master, you can adjust PPT and EDC limits to prevent yellow/red warnings. Raising the EDC from a red state during certain loads caused all core clocks to increase slightly—perhaps another approach could help?
