You can't bypass their gateway. AT&T asks you to use it. The safest option is to enable pass-through mode, since the device doesn’t support bridge mode. Then connect a router to that setup. How large is your home? Where should the router be placed? You may need to lay cabling and add extra access points if the house is extensive. Just noticed the title—so it’s around 3650.
