Hey everyone, checked Task Manager and saw RAM running at 2400mhz. Guess I might have turned off XMP in BIOS, which I had a previous issue with. I looked it up and most sources said XMP was disabled or frequency wasn't set right. I changed the frequency multiplier back to auto (36) just to confirm, but nothing changed. Then I tried swapping the memory slots from A1/B1 to A2/B2. That caused the PC to fail to boot—powered on a few times, sat for five minutes, then just didn’t start properly. Still confused. I'm using the newest BIOS and haven't found a solution yet.
Specs: Ryzen 5800X T-Force 32GB 3600mhz (2x16) RTX 2070 Gigabyte Aorus Elite
This shouldn't occur. A2 and B2 are the favored positions (slots 2 and 4 on the CPU). I'd keep them in those spots and reset the CMOS, as it's probable the board needs to relearn the memory. Clearing the CMOS should prompt it to retrain in the correct locations. After that, turn on XMP and observe the outcome.
