Hello. I’m facing some unusual problems with my new RAM. Before sharing here, I searched online for similar issues and found a few that closely resemble mine but no perfect match. - My computer doesn’t freeze with blue screens. - Nothing appears to cause the problem, especially during gaming. - No entries show up in Event Viewer. - The motherboard is running the latest firmware. I ran a complete Memtest and it passed. Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 21H1 19043.1110 CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x Cooler: Corsair H115i PRO RGB Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition Storage: Samsung 960 EVO 250 GB M.2-2280 NVME PSU: Corsair RMi 1000 W 80+ Gold Backstory In March I chose to switch from Intel to AMD, which naturally meant upgrading both my motherboard and CPU, plus my RAM. Once everything was assembled, it worked smoothly for about two weeks. After that, I noticed something odd: my RAM was limited to 3200 MHz. I turned on DOCP and increased it to 3600, and initially everything seemed fine. The problem started occasionally—sometimes after 15 minutes or a few hours of boot—and it would freeze progressively, lasting about a minute until it completely stopped. For instance, when it froze, I couldn’t click between tabs in Chrome but could open Task Manager. After 30 seconds it would freeze completely, except the cursor stayed movable. Each time I had to press the power button to shut it down. Once back online, nothing showed up in Event Viewer. Eventually I realized the issue was tied to RAM. One sign was that my Corsair H115i cooler’s RGB lights changed colors instead of staying steady. I removed the ICUE, thinking it might be the cause, but it didn’t help. I reinstalled Windows 10, which initially worked but then froze again. I kept my old 3200 MHz RAM (Corsair Dominator Platinum 16 GB 2x8 GB DDR4-3200 CL16) and left the BIOS settings unchanged, which means it’s now running at 3600 MHz. So far, everything has been stable. The fact that my older 3200 MHz RAM works well at 3600 MHz, while the newer 3600 rated one doesn’t, suggests there might be a compatibility issue. I’m considering sending it back for a replacement or asking if anyone else has faced similar problems. Any suggestions? Or should I return it for a refund? Thanks ahead!

It might be your RAM, but checking temperatures during idle and under load would give a fuller picture. The SPD section in CPUz mentions this as well. (Reference: screenshot)

Corsair Platinum seems to clash most with Ryzen, vengeance ranks behind. Consider reducing the speed a bit and check for stability. Maybe the other model you're using has issues with the new RAM.

Everything works perfectly. Just make sure your RAM is compatible with DOCP, even if it seems like it shouldn't. Consider updating the BIOS.

Have you attempted a memory test to check stability and performance? Also, evaluate your RAM usage at 2133mhz without DOCP active. If it functions well, increase the settings; if not, it may indicate faulty RAM.

Sorry to hear that, but it seems you spent a lot on expensive RAM. Your timings are actually slower than the cheaper 3600MHz Ballistix CL16. It would be better to try running at 1.5x speed and see if that helps. If not, consider replacing it with a more affordable option like the Ballistix 3600MHz CL16.

You're experiencing similar problems with your Corsair Dominator setup. It seems the RAM is likely the issue, especially after adjusting the clock speed. Since temperatures are stable and performance improved significantly when lowering the RAM speed, it's worth documenting this in a support ticket with Corsair. You've already tested the RAM at different speeds and confirmed it works fine, which supports your conclusion.

He likely fixed it using one of those techniques.

45c looks quite warm compared to 50c, probably better. Corsair isn’t known for memory quality, so you might need to adjust it from 1.35 to around 1.4. If that doesn’t help, try lowering the SOC to 1.1v and check the results.
