I've been checking around and noticed the gaming performance for 1080 and 1440p isn't huge between 3600 and 3700x. Right now, I don’t play games that really tax the system, though my biggest obsession is ARK: Survival Evolved. With about 130 dollars saved, would this CPU still handle smooth gaming and streaming at 1080P? I’ll be using a 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM setup and a RX5700 XT Sapphire Nitro+.

Yes, it works quickly. You can upgrade later to the 4000 series. Consider getting the 3600.

Both options work well for streaming, though 1440p at 3700x could perform better in highly interactive games. Generally, the GPU plays the biggest role in gaming, so it’s usually the main concern.

My own investigation suggests upgrading from the 3700x could be advantageous, though the 3600 offers better value per dollar. If you can afford it, the 3600 provides a more cost-effective option for your hardware needs.

The 4000 series will remain AM4 as planned. I believed it would be AM5 because the third generation was the final year promised for AM4.

Incorrect. AMD never stated that. It's widely understood that the 4000 series is AM4 compatible.

Cool! Thanks everyone, I’m not aiming for a lot of 1440p since I want to check how it performs. I was planning for 3700x, but after watching the videos and reading comments, I realize I’ll be okay starting from my 4790 and 1050 ti Haha

I'm planning to use AM4 technology. It's a 7nm+ process, not a smaller die size. I'll integrate it with current boards.
