Considering overclocking isn't popular on Zen2, the 3600X offers better performance than the 3600 without extra expense.

If the price exceeds twenty pounds additional, then no.

varies, those small percentages you might see for a 30-pound gain are tougher to achieve by investing the same money elsewhere. For example, buying two Noctua fans won't give you the performance boost from going from 3600 to 3600x.

I usually choose the 3600 unless the 3600X is a huge discount. It costs about $50-$60 more than the regular version. You can adjust some features in the 3600 or experiment with it. The 3600X is quite close to it.

Understanding a 3600 resolution, I'd recommend getting an X—much more power from the start, a slightly improved chip, and a better cooler. Personally, it's worth the extra cost. I bought mine without a cooler for £180.

They use the same cooler consistently. Several testers observed this pattern. The 3600X includes a superior cooler in the box, and combining it with the 3600 achieves the full performance of the 3600X. For optimal results, it's recommended to pair the 3600 with a better cooler.

I've had both cpu's and here is what I came up with 3600 stock cooler is garbage, high temps and it wouldn't hit full boost clocks for me all the time 3600x better stock cooler and hits boost clocks constantly, cooler temps Don't buy a 3600 and dump money into a different cooler, just shop around and find a better deal on the x cpu and call it a day. If you already have a good cpu cooler then get the 3600 and save some $ Just my $.02

Reviewing the pricing this morning. The price has shifted by £14. Current rates are £178 and £192. I already own a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Black cooler, so it doesn’t worry much for me.

I used to suggest 3600 but not anymore. Many users say the 3600s feel like a reused CPU, significantly underperforming compared to all other options. It can run at the same clock speed but with much lower voltage, generating less heat. Considering the 14GBP price gap, I think it's a more sensible choice.
