The R5 3600's high price compared to the 5600X likely stems from its advanced features, performance capabilities, and market positioning. Both are top-tier gaming laptops, but differences in specs, software support, and brand perception contribute to their pricing.

Final inventory levels are typical as retailers attempt to extract remaining funds from outdated items.

It's happening because the product no longer gets produced and it's almost sold out. On eBay, a 3600 might be more affordable than a 5600x.

They understand there’s limited supply remaining, yet the price remains high because demand hasn’t dropped significantly. It seems the situation is even more challenging than expected.

This occurs regularly, serving as a way to recover costs for those who aren't aware or can't afford the specific product. It happens consistently.

It's individuals exploiting those who lack better knowledge. If someone learns the 3600 is a strong CPU, they might miss out on knowing the 5600X is an improvement. They're focused on finding a 3600 at the lowest cost. Some may not realize you can fit a 5600X into devices like the B450 or worry about updating the BIOS needed for compatibility. Essentially, they might wrongly believe a 3600 offers the best possible option. This pattern repeats across older systems, regardless of logic. I believe Intel's approach to breaking compatibility every couple of generations leads people to think the same way about AMD too. It's also important to note that until recently, using 5000 series chips on 300 series boards wasn't feasible. Even now, you often need specialized boards, though support might expand. In such cases, your best choices could be a 3600 or a new board paired with a 5600X, making the total cost more economical.

Same as before. Also, look for old i7/i9 models—it's even worse.
