3300X vs 3500
3300X vs 3500
I was looking at CPU prices locally and noticed the 3300X costs more than the 3500. The 3300X is $150 while the 3500 is $131. Should I consider if the extra cost of the 3300X is justified compared to the 3500, or does the 3500 offer better value? Also, which model performs better in streaming?
Provides solutions for gaming followed by a shift to streaming at a reduced level.
The 3600 stands out for gaming and streaming due to its six cores and twelve threads, whereas the 3300x offers only four cores and eight threads. If your setup is solely for gaming, the 3300x might be suitable, but the 3600 is a powerful option for both purposes. You could also consider the last generation 2600 or the 1600 AF, though I believe the 3600 is well-suited to your requirements.
In the reviews I noticed at the launch, the 3500 appeared to lag significantly over the 3600. The 3300x seems to match the performance of the 3600 quite well. It's challenging to decide. There are six cores but no SMT, whereas four cores with SMT would be better for streaming. I’m curious if a 2600x might be a more suitable choice at a comparable price.
No, that won't reach 3500. The system shouldn't have more than two extra physical cores.
I mentioned that but here: https://www.techspot.com/review/1966-amd-ryzen-5-3500x/ We notice the 3500x is slower than the 1600x and especially the 2600x in almost every test. It just doesn't seem like a strong chip when a 2600x is cheaper.
