In my country (India) there is over $35 diff b/w both cpus... I am highly confused as to which i should buy. Seems like an easy answer! Just go for the 3300x, it has better ccx layout and faster clock speed, BUT I am planning to pair these with a 1650 Super and according to what videos and articles i could find, the performance difference will be low with this budget graphics card. Another problem is that if I were to go with the 3300x ill have to shave off some money somehow to fit it in my budget. I would have to go with 8 gb ram instead of 16 or get a dirt cheap ssd which will be utter trash/ barely better than a hdd. I would like to know your thoughts about how much of a difference will both cpus make. i have no plans to upgrade anytime soon (at least 4-6 years) so keep that in mind! as always there are ppl telling to not buy now and instead wait for 4000 series. I find these comments foolish but I wud like to ask that is there a probability of budget cpu from 4000 series to be launched this year... i wudnt expect that as they just released these both budget ryzen 3s.

For immediate needs, choose the 3100 with at least an SSD that meets TLC and has DRAM speed. If you intend to upgrade later, opt for the 3300x with an extra 8GB RAM. If you have time to build later this year or next, waiting is advisable.

The 4000s series is expected to launch at the end of the year and it likely won't feature any cheaper SKU than what is currently available with the 3100/3300x. If you can wait and you're satisfied with what you currently have, do wait until you no longer can, because there's always something better around the corner after all. But if you really want to upgrade now, go for it. It's your money, you decide how to spend it.

The main attention will center around AMD's flagship chip at the launch of the 4000 series. Typically, the lower-end models are introduced afterward. It seems that chips in the 3000 and below range will become more affordable, offering improved options. A potential 3600X could see a substantial price drop, making it a more attractive choice compared to the 3100X.

I’d pick the 3100, just be sure to have a solid GPU for future upgrades to higher tiers like 4000 or even 5000 if they’re available.

My current computer is over a decade old and I’m excited about the upgrade. I was hoping to get it in March, aiming for the Intel 10th gen and new Ryzen chips. It feels like forever waiting... I’m thinking about purchasing a 3100 now, sighing.

For a budget of 500 you can't achieve much more. If you're okay with starting cheap, getting 8 gigs and then upgrading later would make sense, though it depends on your upgrade plan and future use.
