For gaming purposes only, but for productivity or tasks requiring more RAM, 32 GB is ideal. If you don’t need it right now, opt for two 8 GB modules so you can expand to 32 GB later.

RAM size only counts if it's insufficient. Speed depends on clock frequency. When you consistently use more than 16GB, constantly swapping to the filesystem, then 32GB might actually improve performance by eliminating paging. If not, slower clocks mean slower results and extra unused space offers no benefit.
